Janet provides the Force 10 Health Care team with key insights gleaned from her clinical and leadership experiences in various health systems, and knowledge of best practices in evidence-based care across the care continuum.
As a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE), Janet’s work with Force 10 is informed by her deep expertise in physician relations and physician practice management. Her experiences as Vice President, Professional Services with the Colorado Hospital Association, Director of Accountable Care and Care Management for Denver Health, senior project manager for the University of Colorado Health (UCH) and the Colorado School of Medicine, and Executive Director of a multi-practice MSO in Colorado provide Janet with broad, hands-on knowledge of the organizational challenges in health care systems. She gained substantial expertise in operations by developing and managing clinics across the state for various organizations.
During her time as the Director of Care Management and Accountable Care for Denver Health, Janet worked with safety net systems and the state’s Accountable Care Collaborative/ Medicaid agency. At UCH she facilitated physician involvement with their first-ever Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Plan. A member of various professional associations, Janet is constantly immersed in best practice standards and benchmarks for evidence-based care, benefitting her work with Force 10’s clients. In addition to figuring out how to measure what matters, she also brings system-thinking and lean six sigma rigor to projects.
Janet understands the importance of engagement and aligning stakeholder incentives in collaborating with various groups that may have competing objectives. Among her various accomplishments, Janet
Led an Alternatives to Opioids (ALTO) project to a pilot stage in 10 hospitals that far exceeded its goal for reduction in opioids and was expanded to all emergency departments in the state.
Collaborated with Colorado’s Department of Health Care Policy & Financing to improve care management, quality measures and payment reform.
Built care management architecture for Denver Health’s 40,000+ Medicaid patients to exceed key performance indicators, earned bonus money for primary care clinics, and expedited real-time care for complex ED patients.
Developed 99% correct PCP and Referral Source capture system, resulting in faster and more complete communications among providers
Devised the first-ever state measurement system for hospital sepsis mortality, resulting in new benchmarking abilities.
Brought and built the MSO construct to individual and group physician practices resulting in both improved care and profitability.
Janet has a BS in Physical Therapy (Magna cum Laude) from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She pursued post-graduate studies abroad, boosting her French and Spanish language skills.
